The left-wing media is already saying the voting is illegitimate as the USPS doesn't have the capacity to handle the mail-in votes, which they accurately warned about months ago. CNN now has a tally of every district where USPS has mailing delays with grave warnings that Biden may lose on account of the USPS.

I think Trump will eke out a victory today, however Biden has already said he will sue everywhere (his campaign hired well over 300 law firms across the nation) and some left-wing Democrat states like Pennsylvania and Michigan have left the door wide open to fraud by allowing mail-in votes to be sent in well past the day of the election. Trump will win today, but he will lose tomorrow as votes are recounted, as Pelosi said last week "to count votes until Biden wins". This will probably go to SCOTUS in the end, although good for the country, Trump has not appointed any partisans, Kavanaugh and ACB are centrists so we will have to see about the arguments.
I think Republicans may take the Senate but won't take the House.

The 1950s NWT (1984)
by HowTheBibleWasCreated ini did a video on this subject once but feel this is a noteworthy topic.
to be honest the old nwt has come under sonsiderable attack from fundie morons attacking it's nt which was translated with a few revisals in 1950.the truth is john 1:1 and 8:58 and other texts, though despite being odd, are within the translation rules as are the inclusion of the word {other} since this was stated in the forward as an interpolation.
jehovah in the nt is odd but certianly lacking as other translations have added more yhwh.. so the ot?

BeDuhn is a close WTBTS sympathizer if not outright a JW. There are exchanges on this forum from ~14 years ago that show that he distributed WTBTS literature such as the Kingdom Interlinear to his students as textbooks and that he is highly biased, claiming that every scholar that does not adhere to the WTBTS viewpoint is biased.
Even reviewers of his book outright state that he only accepts and defends the Jehovah's Witness viewpoints and thus his book is incredibly biased for anyone that does not accept those viewpoints while at the same time stating that HE alone in his field is not biased at all. You can't imagine the hubris that guy must have to claim he is infallible, if anything, it sounds like he may have been involved in the translation of the NWT himself (given the authors have never been revealed) and thus feels the need to defend it.
This is a quote from BeDuhn on EVERY other biblical scholar: I do not "ignore" these predecessors and colleagues, but rather find fault with their highly biased approach and surprisingly fallacious claims.
You can find a scholarly rebuttal to the BeDuhn books here and it isn't good for BeDuhn: https://web.archive.org/web/20110303223048/http://www.ses.edu:80/Portals/0/documents/TRUTH%20IN%20TRANSLATIONA%2001.pdf
Note that BeDuhn's appendix on the NWT use of Jehovah even where it isn't in ANY extant translation, BeDuhn's arguments are basically the same arguments which the WTBTS uses to justify the mistranslation. You could literally read his book and put earlier WT articles and see the arguments are a copy.

@slimboyfat: All the countries that so-called did really well have these 3 things in common:
- They are remote countries that see fewer International travelers, Taiwan has sanctions imposed upon it from the mainland, you can't travel there without China and China doesn't let just anyone go there.
- Most of those countries are communist or extremely liberal (eg. New Zealand) and have imposed very strict restrictions upon its population before (guns, travel, taxes) and their population is used to heavy government regulation. Not only would no free country go along with these sorts of restrictions, they already have the deaths, low economic output and other issues associated with such regimes. Yes, even New Zealand.
You ask: What is wrong with our leaders that they can’t manage to do this? - I ask, what is wrong that their population allows their leaders to test, track and trace anyone against their will. Not only that, but as we see from Europe, if your population isn't hit yet, it will eventually get hit, but now with a stronger, mutated virus, there will be no immunity if everyone remains isolated across the globe. You can off course always put everyone in a sterile bubble at gunpoint, but that doesn't improve the economy.
The reality is that if you're younger than 40, this is less deadly than the flu, if you're between 40 and 65, it's as deadly as the flu, if you're older than 65, pretty much anything, including the flu has a better chance to end up killing you. Now we don't stop surgeries on people older than 65, we don't lock down or mask up every flu season. It burned through NY and many no-lockdown US states and Italy and Sweden, they don't see any resurgence in death. Belgium locked down fast and early, they've been having the top COVID deaths in the world (per capita).

Dr. Bruce Metzger, Professor of New Testament at Princeton Universtity:
“Far more pernicious in this same verse is the rendering… ‘and the Word was a god’… It must be stated quite frankly that, if the Jehovah’s Witnesses take this translation seriously, they are polytheists. In view of the additional light which is available during this age of Grace, such a representation is even more reprehensible than were the heathenish, polytheistic errors into which ancient Israel was so prone to fall. As a matter of solid fact, however, such a rendering is a frightful mistranslation.” (For the Record – John 1:1)
Dr. William Barclay, a leading Greek scholar, University of Glasgow, Scotland:
“The deliberate distortion of truth by this sect is seen in their New Testament translations, John 1:1 is translated: ‘the Word was a god,’ a translation which is grammatically impossible. It is abundantly clear that a sect that can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest.”
H. H. Rowley, British scholar:
“From beginning to end this volume is a shining example of how the Bible should NOT be translated.”
Dr. Julius Mantey, author of A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament:
“A grossly misleading translation”; “obsolete and incorrect“; “shocking mistranslation“
“It is neither scholarly nor reasonable to translate John 1:1 ‘the Word was a god.’ But of all the scholars in the world, so far as we know, none have translated this verse as Jehovah’s Witnesses have done.”
“I have never read any New Testament so badly translated as the Kingdom Interlinear of the Greek Scriptures…. It is a distortion–not a translation.”
“The translators of the New World Translation are ‘diabolical deceivers.'”
Dr. Edgar J. Goodspeed, well known translator:
“A fatal distortion of Biblical truth”; “the grammar is regrettable”
The one “bible” which translates John 1:1 as “the Word was a god” known to us, and to the WTB&TS, is Johannes Greber’s “Bible.”
Greber was a Catholic priest who became a spiritist. He claimed to get his “translation” as a medium of the spirit world.
He wrote another book entitled, Communication with the Spirit World, published in 1932, which details his experiences as a medium.

There is a spike in cases, but not deaths. Basically, more people are getting it because people are getting sick and tired from being inside. Go to the supermarket and you'll see, people are close again, they aren't staying 6 feet away.

I believe racism and religion is innate in people. They both stem from long, evolutionary processes that have been proven quite helpful in the past. This has been proven in young children, even controlling for a range of factors such as education and personal beliefs of the parents.
The explanation is quite simple: If you are in an area with low resources, you find out grouping is beneficial, but too large a group is not. So you make a small group, you need to keep them together so you make up stories about the darkness outside the range of the campfire, this fear of the darkness is quite natural, because people that wander out there are more likely to get eaten => religion is born.
So you have a small group, there isn't enough resources to grow the group, you find another group, you kill them. Now you are sentient enough to know killing is wrong, because killing within your group is bad for survival (you kill the hunter, you starve, you kill the healer, you get sepsis), but you just killed others that act and look like you. So you come up with stories about how they are "different", "less human" => Now tribalism is born, racism is just a form of tribalism.
These things have been tested in groups of young children and both close and remote ancestors of primates. Groups form when there is sufficient resources but too much danger for individuals. Tribalism forms when there is a shortage of resources for a larger group.
Kids tend to share and form groups as long as there are enough toys. When you take away some toys so they don't have enough for everyone, kids will start to form groups and fight, those groupings don't necessarily make sense, but generally along the lines of observation, how they look, race, gender, smell, even clothing items, clothing colors etc. As kids get older, they make more nuanced distinctions and come up with more elaborate stories about these distinctions.

What`s wrong With American Politics ?
by smiddy3 inwhat`s wrong with american politics ?.
96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.
nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

He is trolling, from another perspective, Trump won 2,626 counties while Clinton took 487 of them nationwide.
Yes, Hillary nearly won the election with just 15% of all US communities voting for her. So there you go, Trump won 85% of the vote and nearly lost to Hillary.
So if you want to talk about fly-over country and the majority of the country having the feeling they are getting ignored, this is why. The cities (NY and CA in particular) get all the attention, all the funding, all the political capital and people in rural areas and their local issues get largely ignored.

Eliminate the Oil Industry?
by Anony Mous ina lot of countries are on the side of eliminating the oil industry altogether as well as zero-emission alternatives like nuclear power.. in the us, biden has promised to eliminate all federal lands oil production when he takes power in 2021 (30% of the united states) as well as native american tribal lands which account for 8 percent of all oil, 9 percent of all natural gas, and 6 percent of all natural gas liquids from 96,000 wells (10% of the total wells in the us).. in europe, oil and gas production has been largely eliminated except for the nordic countries and the uk (which the eu recently lost access to), germany is funding a major oil pipeline as is china from russia and russian-controlled portions of ukraine, even after trump cut off all builders from russian oil pipelines, the russian government is now trying to build the pipeline themselves with potential disastrous results.. venezuela's economy collapsed largely due to the government taking over and eliminating the oil industry companies.. in the mean time, control for most non-us energy sources is now wholly dependent on russian and middle eastern governments.. california and germany eliminated oil-based energy sources and now mandate 30% of their power from 'green' wind and solar alternatives.
germany energy costs now hover around 25c/kwh and california is not far behind with 16c/kwh both experiencing rolling blackouts in major cities and importing 60% of mostly coal and gas energy from their neighbors.. the world currently has 300 years worth of oil at the current rates of usage which have stagnated due to improved efficiencies.
co2 emissions in the us have dropped in the last 3 years for the first time in decades despite (or because) reduced oil and gas regulations.. do you think given the above facts, eliminating the oil industry is a good thing?

We rely on hydroelectric (Niagara Falls) which has been operating since Nikolai Tesla convinced Westinghouse to build it. Natural hydro is cheap, nuclear is cheap. We pay 2c/kWh where I live (4c in the winter), from hydro + nuclear in the north-east which is cheaper than the natural gas which is 6c/kWh (not account for inefficiencies converting BTU into kWh).

The phrase "Can I change my vote" has been trending in the top 100 Google searches for the last few days, which surprisingly, some states allow you to. Many, many people are just finding out about the extensive corruption within the Democrat party.
